Neurodivergent Learning - K- 7
This is my 10th year working as a special education teacher in Richland School District One. I spent 8 years at Meadowfield Elementary School and Satchel Ford Elementary, working as an Emotional Disabilities Self-Contained teacher and Resource teacher. During my time at Meadowfield, I was voted teacher of the year for the 2019-2020 school year. I am currently working as an Autism Itinerant Teacher, traveling to multiple schools, focusing on social/emotional and behavior services for students k-12. I became a teacher through PACE, an alternative certification program for teacher in high needs areas.
I earned a B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of Mississippi (Hotty Toddy) and an Ed.S. (masters degree plus 30 hours) in Counselor Education from the University of South Carolina. I have experience as a Marriage and Family Therapist, early interventionist specializing in abuse and neglect, and a case manager for behavior services.
I have two children, Madison (16) and Jackson (18) who attend A.C. Flora High School. We have a dog named Archie and a hedgehog named Charlie. When I am not at work, I love to read, travel (Mongolia was my most adventurous trip), and hang out with my family.
