James Hane, a high school English teacher at Heathwood Hall, brings a wealth of experience to Peace of Mind students. He taught English at W.J. Keenan High School and Ridge View High School before relocating to Bogota, Colombia, where he taught English at the Colegio Los Nogales with the help of his dog Bo, who slept in a corder of the classroom or solicited food and companionship from students. After seven years in Bogota, Mr. Hane moved to Pereria, Colombia, where he served as middle and high school principal of the Liceo Ingles until 2014 when he returned to South Carolina to teach at Irmo High School and later Spring Hill High School in Chapin. James holds a B.A from Sewanee and an M.A from the University of South Carolina.
