Lucas Snyder
Middle-High School Educator
Expertise in US History; AP Exam Prep; Executive Functioning
My name is Lucas Snyder, and I've been teaching Social Studies and working with students for 14 years.
After receiving my Master's in Teaching: Secondary Education from the University of South Carolina, I worked in Richland One at Columbia High School for 11 years as the lead 11th Grade United States History teacher. I am a certified AP US History instructor and AP Grader, a CERRA-trained mentor, and was the head coach for Varsity Girls Soccer and Varsity Cross Country.
I'm now in my 3rd year at Chapin Middle School in Lexington-Richland Five, where I teach 8th-grade South Carolina History, serve as a Student Council Advisor, and serve on the district's social studies leadership team.
My teaching philosophy prioritizes relationship-building and collaboration in the academic setting, while finding joy in the learning experience. Education is equally powerful as it is enjoyable, and I aim to communicate that belief to all students.
